Known to as Dinagat Festival before it became Bakasi Festival.

It was 1999 when Dinagat Festival was first introduced, when Cordova became the first town in Cebu province to hold its own festival.

The Dinagat-Bakasi Festival in honor of the town’s heritage as a fishing community and of a type of fish known to locals as an aphrodisiac.
